The Color Purple - Oprah Winfrey as Sofia

This was part of my entry for Lisa Mansour's 5th Annual NY Cake Show Cookie Category Competition. The theme was Broadway and I selected the play, The Color Purple, based on my love for the book, movie & play. We had to create 6 cookies and the Oprah cookie was my favorite. I will post the rest of my work tomorrow. If time allows, I will also do a write up of my experience competing in the event and the lessons learned. Xoxo!

Thank you Julia! I will try to have it posted by this weekend. It was a very eye opening experience as it was my 1st (for a lack of a better word) "serious" competition. It was very interesting to know what the judges are looking for. I'll be posting what I have learned & your input would also be much appreciated; I know you have judged countless competitions yourself!
