Wanted to use also glucose-corn syrup to see how it behaves with cookie and have to say I like it.So I coloured corn syrupe with dark blue and carefuly aplyed on cookie with barktree effect and where here moss with a small spoon just some sources ,I baked also many stones, then colored grey, white,a bit diped in green royal icing and then in container with smashedcookies colored deep green so after is looking like moss
My lizard is unfotunately not perfect, was baked in mold, then broked 1 leg so needed glued, after covered with royal, was not so simple as I thought, and after dryed just coloured, for tongue I used a small piece light brown sugarpaste. The big backround is fat iced cardboard, gingerbread are lizard, stones and barktree wall with small springs of "water"-colored corn syrup or glucose syrup as we call it here .I like very much the shine ,which is neverlost❤️

Haha I love that little tongue! I can't really see the shine in the photos, so is it the white spots on the bark that are the corn syrup? I am also curious as to whether the corn syrup ever dried hard because in my experience it does not. So, I have found that while corn syrup does look rather water-like it is not always the most practical material to use. I am curious to know what you think, Petra. Finally, I have to say that the tree bark here is outstanding and the whole scene is very realistic. Great job!

Corn syrup is colored dark blue, so you can see it more clearly, have to say that first I let the barktree wall dawn on table to dry a bit, but when I stand it corn syrup still runs down😜😜so I will not use it definitely NOT this way again on standing cookies 😉
