Hi, here's the list of techniques Wafer paper: flowers cutouts Stenciled elements: red flowers stenciled with colored dust Modeling chocolate: branches and coins Gumpaste: the red thread that ties the coins together, the chinese knot on top of the coins and the other thing that hangs under the coins (I ignore the english word for) RI transfer: the monkey (sorry... I am aware I still need lot of practicing with RI) Painted elements: branches, thread, coins, and the monkey (gold extended luster)
Oh my, I just love this cookie and design. I keep staring at it. From the colors, to the tassel, the Chinese coins, the gold monkey, the wafer paper flowers, just gorgeous. Great job, a work of art.
A lovely design !!!! The branch with cherry flowers falling makes it very romantic and the color palette you have chosen is just perfect. I love it !!!!

Tassel! That's the word! Thank you, Diane, I am glad you liked the cookie because it all started with your "Cupid Strikes" entry. Your tip about repourposing WP leftover with a hole puncher inspired me to use flower punchers for my "see-through fan cookie" (I gave you attribution in the comment). I use them also to make a stencil and to stencil the whole set with color dust (another experiment). And flower cutouts recur in all the cookie set. Then in this cookie I went one step forward giving the flowers on the branches a shape, by passing the cutouts over the steam of a boiling water pot, and it worked out. They didn't melt and they could be modeled. So a big thank you, because the whole set is designed starting from flower punchers and WP cutouts, your idea.

Love this creative set! The detail work is amazing. Gung hay fat choy!
Thank you , Bette! I am going to celebrate the Chinese New Year next week with my friend Ting and friends, with exquisite home made Chinese food and traditional Chinese dessert. When I got the invitation I was inspired to make this set using mixed media for the PBP challenge. I will make a greetings card out of the picture of the set. I liked your cookies. Gung hay fat choy!
