ATTENTION, Stencil of the Month Club Members! I'm beginning the design process for November, December, and January Prettier PlaquesTM stencil sets. Do you have any requests for patterns or scenes that you'd like to see transformed into a five-piece set? I can't guarantee I will, but if any ideas seem popular and/or strike me as unique, I'll give them serious thought! MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE!

When do you need the requests by?

As soon as possible. I need to submit design concepts by the end of this month.
I just started doing my hand typography/lettering sketchs again recently, so on your next go around I'd be honored to let you look at some and see if they could be shrunk down to cookie size as I usually sketch them on 8.5 x 11 paper. They are in no shape to look at right now. I've been thinking about shrinking them for my prjector but a stencil would be so much better as they are similar to chalk board art.

Okay, but I was thinking more about general Prettier Plaques combinations (background scenes with simple messages, etc.) in themes for these times of year. Not sure I want to get into specific typography at the moment.

That's absolutely fine, I completely understand. That's why I threw it out there. I'll look at shrinking them for my prjector and post pictures when I'm done making a cookie of them, if you see something you think would work just let me know.

So what might a "universal" Christmas scene include if not trees and wreaths? Nativity, bells . . . in other words, what elements do consider to be universal in Australia? Thanks!!
P.S. I just released a few summer (or winter, in your case)/beach sets, which you can find on the site now.
Viva Las Vegas Theme.....i get requests for that theme for birthdays...weddings...vacations...and even baby showers/gender reveal. There arent many stencils out there except the traditional playing cards. And just think of the colors you could use!!!

I wonder why this is - do you live in Vegas or Nevada?

Hi Julia,
I've had a couple of requests for sympathy and get well cookies. Just thought I'd throw this out there in case you might consider these topics for potential Prettier Placque stencil designs .

Thanks! So, let's explore that . . . what sort of images (backgrounds) and messages would you envision for a sympathy cookie?

I typically associate gorgeous floral bouquets and bows with life celebration events (memorials). I know that you've created beautiful floral background stencils already which could be used if people have those in their stencil collection. But perhaps a stencil that highlights one particular flower (calla lily, lily of the valley or a single rose that might incorporate a bow). I'm trying to think gender neutral but we still see flowers as a central part of these events.
Additionally, I've seen an increasing number of videos and photo collages at memorial services highlighting the person's life events, family, achievements, etc. I love that memorials have gone in this direction! Messages like "Celebrating a Life" and "In Remembrance" may be appropriate. My most recent client wanted to focus on life celebration custom cookies.
Just throwing some ideas out there Julia..I'm guessing that you typically think in terms of frequency and need when designing stencil packages so that you're reaching a wide audience. I don't know if this fits that criteria but as baby boomers age this may have an audience large enough to warrant the investment.
