I have recently found a kitchen that will rent space to me.  I am trying to get all of my paperwork in order such as registering with the state, getting an LLC, etc.  I would like to get insurance to help protect me.  Can anyone recommend a good place to shop for this type of insurance?  Thanks.

I would call around to get the best quote...I go through a local general liability insurance company. I am sure the kitchen wants you to add them as additionally insured (which costs nothing additionally). When I started out at a commercial kitchen a few years ago, I paid $250 per year...each year jumped up quite a bit.

Did the kitchen you rent provide you with a list of recommended vendors? They might even be able to give you the information for the insurance company that they use..

Good luck...getting all of the legal details can be daunting, but well worth it

Thanks for the reply.  I called State Farm to start since I have my home owners and car insurance through them.  They gave me a quote that would give me liability, cover wage loss if something happened to the kitchen and material coverage.  I am going to call some other places, but it's a start.
