I just started to learn how to decorate cookies and don’t want to invest in a separate dehydrator appliance just yet. I have an an instant pot air fryer lid (which I’ve been using for cooking/air frying only) and noticed it has a dehydrator function. Has anyone ever tried or have any experience with the instant pot dehydrator to quickly set the royal icing? Any feedbacks would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Darkchocoholic99, Congrats on making your first post. I look forward to many more to come!
My two cents- I do not use a dehydrator. Just run a little fan that runs from a computer port (or battery pack) and that gives a nice shiny surface to the icing.
Sorry, no experience with the product you mention, but I agree with Sylvianne. I have a dehydrator, but I use it more as a fan, as I place the cookies outside and in front of it, not in it.
I’m not a fan of dehydrators and gave mine away. It made my cookies blotchy. I let them dry naturally under a ceiling fan.
Hi, even the open oven with only the lamp switched on (my fan also runs a little) does it. I'm doing it now!
Thank you everyone for the helpful tips! I will try them. It just takes so long to dry and wait until I can move onto the next step. I’ll have to learn how to be more patient. 😊. Love this community....thanks again for everyone’s help and support.
