I tried my first stamping on royal icing for a birthday cookie gift box and am very pleased with the cookie, but because I did them so far in advance I froze them.  Now I am wondering what the thawing will do to the food coloring of the stamped image. Any one have thoughts or ideas?

I don't freeze my cookies and so have never tried this. But, the key, I would think, is avoiding condensation build-up on the cookie during the thawing process, which could cause the food coloring to blur. The consensus in most of our forum posts on freezing is that if you leave the cookies in packaging while thawing, condensation won't build up. Can you do a test-thaw of a couple of cookies and see what happens, and then let us all know?

Hello all,  I pulled one of the rubber stamped cookies out of the freezer yesterday and it thawed perfectly.  I had it in a baggie as it thawed.  I now know it works.  Thanks!
