I found the best price for an impulse sealer for our cookies. I originally bought a 12 inch with cutter refurbished and paid around $90.00 for it over 2 years ago.
Around December it started overheating and eventually burned itself it out.
I did much more research this time and bought a new 8 inch sealer "with cutter" from Technopak. It works like a charm.
I have been buying real cellophane bags from www.clearcellobags.com.
Check out the prices at Technopak. If you are in the market for an impulse sealer, this might be the pricing you need.

That's who made my sealer as well and I love it! Definitely one of my favorite cookie purchases. Makes packaging cookies so easy and they look very professional.
I have used a sealer before but without a cutter. Could you explain why you need the cutter please? Thanks
I LOVE my sealer/cutter system! I can't believe just how fast I can seal up a batch of cookies. I also make bubble pouches using my sealer. I got if for Mother's Day and have used it many times!!
How would you make bubble pouches? They sound fabulous and better than the time consuming wrapping with bubble wrap..... Probably would use less, too!
The cutter is just a time saver. It cuts the bag at a set distance (about half an inch) from the seal.
Well I purchased one along with some bags. Thanks for the info!

If you don't own one and are debating whether to spend the money, an impulse sealer is WELL WORTH every penny! I bought the Technopak 8" with cutter on Ebay for under $50, and it has reduced my bagging time by about 75%. Time is money!
I've had my sealer for a couple of years, and think it was a very useful purchase. I bought it on Amazon for less than $40, which includes shipping. Here is a link:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UVMKO8/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Although impulse heat sealing may add another piece of equipment to an already long list of tools for cookie decorating, it is the best way to keep them fresh.
Most sealed cookies are fresh up to 3 weeks after sealing.
I impulse seal all of my cookies. Well worth it !

I have this one, too and I LOVE it! Well worth the money.
The cutter is nice to have so you can customize the size, get really close to the cookie.

I have this one also, Love it!
What is the difference between having a cutter on your sealer and simply cutting with scissors? Besides the obvious time save... Am I missing something?

Just purchased this one ... it arrived today - can't wait to try my new toy!!
I bought a heat sealer a few years ago without the cutter to save money but soon wished I had spent the extra money on the one with cutter. Thanks for info on sealer with cutter, this is cheaper than what I paid for mine without the cutter. I think I might invest this one.

I really need to stay out of the forums! So far, this week alone, and mind you, it is only Wednesday, I have purchased a bag sealer, an air brush machine and 2000 polypropylene bags! And this is just a hobby. I am truly obsessed!
This is a perfect idea, I just ordered mine tonight! Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
My friend and I just purchased an 8" impulse sealer from amazon because they're on sale! so I really hope it works I am sooooo excited!!!!!
I know this is an older post but in case anyone is still looking. I bought an 8" impulse sealer with a cutter from Technopak on Black Friday. They were having a 20% off sale. So if you plan to buy one in the future be sure to check for sales. I love mine. http://www.technopackcorp.com/...ler-with-cutter.html

I just used his machine for the first time ... I'm in love !!
Whatever size you purchase, if you are sealing a large number of bags make sure that it has a cutter! I opted for one without originally and after using it to seal large orders I upgraded to one with a cutter. It is really worth the extra money.
Thanks for the info! I just made the purchase!
Thank you everyone for your input. I am looking into packaging for liege waffles, and this was very helpful. I am definitely going to opt for the cutter feature, too. I will be heading to the cello bags thread next to figure out which bags I should use.
