Yes, it's that time again to update the site with new artwork - specifically the June winning entry from Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #13! I always find it cathartic to write these posts; for me, they're akin to a light, but healthy housecleaning (operative word is "light"). Things always look a bit brighter and fresher after the artwork change, yet all I need to do is a simple upload. The winning artists did all of the "heavy work" by creating these banners and backdrops in the first place!
So, thank you, artists - and thank you particularly to emilybaking for her gorgeous June wedding-themed contributions below, and now posted in their proper spots on the site.
Due to security reasons, emilybaking requested that I not share her real, full name or image on this site or anywhere online, so we'll hereafter affectionately refer to her as Emily (or EB, short for emilybaking) and use her emilybaking avatar wherever I'd normally use her headshot.
As always, I'll be publishing an in-depth Cookier Close-up with Emily later in June, but in the meantime, here's a quick bio!
Emily, a hobbyist cookie decorator, lives in Tokyo, Japan, is married, and is currently pregnant with her first child who is due in July. (Congrats, Emily!) Emily imagines she will most likely have a girl, as she's already dreaming of making and decorating cookies with her little one! In the past, Emily worked in a hotel kitchen preparing food for weddings, and also as a cooking instructor for parents and children at a nearby elementary school. She started cookie decorating just two years ago, after taking a cookie decorating course from Noriko of mintlemonade (aka cookie crumbs). Last year, Emily taught her own cookie decorating classes at the elementary school, and, from time to time, she gives workshops in her home. It's currently a very happy time for Emily, as she really enjoys sharing the fun and charm of decorated cookies with the larger cookie community! You can follow more of Emily's work on her Facebook page or her blog. Photo and logo credit: emilybaking.

If you would like your own cookie art to be considered for use on the site after our challenge winners have run their course (by January 2017), I would love to see it at any time.
