I've long admired our July site artist's clean, precise style and picture-perfect icing, so it's high time I featured her work in our site banner and backdrop, don't you think?! And here you have it - a festive Fourth of July set that showcases @Cookies on Cambridge's trademark styling! Packed with bold red, white, and blue hearts symbolizing love for our country, this set makes the perfect Independence Day statement. Thank you to this month's featured artist, aka Lori Todhunter, for contributing this patriotic set and so many other beautiful sets since joining Cookie Connection in 2017. Thanks also to Site Art Stylist @Icingsugarkeks, aka Gabi, for taking Lori's original picture and morphing it into the heart-filled backdrop and dynamic banner that you see below.

I'm pleased to report that I'm all caught up on Cookier Close-ups (for a change), which means I can jump right into prepping one of these in-depth interviews with Lori. After all of Lori's time in this community, I am embarrassed to say that I just learned her real name last night (), so it's especially important that I get to know her better! My plan is to embark on interview questions after I return from a brief trip mid-month, and then to have the interview posted by end of July or early August, summer vacation schedules permitting. In the meantime, please enjoy Lori's brief bio and links to her work below.

Again, thanks to Lori and Gabi for dressing up our site with such an effusion of patriotic spirit!

Lori Todhunter of Cookies on CambridgeLori Todhunter lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA with her husband and has loved baking for many years. As a stay-at-home mom of three boys, Lori has gotten great joy from making cookies for family and friends. She has always had a passion for art and found that decorating cookies provided the perfect outlet to express her creativity. Lori is a self-taught cookier and is known as the “cookie lady” around town. In 2015, her hobby expanded into a successful small business called Cookies on Cambridge. Lori has since retired, but still finds time to make cookies for fun and enjoys seeing her creations inspire other artists.

For more information about Lori and her work, please check out her Instagram page and Cookie Connection portfolio.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post like this one and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through January 2024, so I am specifically looking for art for February 2024 and beyond. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
