As I'm sure you know, it takes a small (and growing!) community to keep a large community like Cookie Connection alive with content. In addition to my partners at Hoop.la who maintain the technical aspects of this site and constantly dream up new site features for us to enjoy, the site stays in motion in large part due to the generous contributions of several talented cookiers.
This month, there have been (and will be) some notable changes to our roster of contributors that I think you will want to know about.
First, Karen Anderson will be leaving our team of contributors (much to my dismay) to pursue her growing interest in dog rescue. As you may know, Karen wrote the monthly column How DID You Do That?, which explored the how-tos behind remarkable cookie artistry. (Past posts here.) Hats off to Karen for conceiving of this column and contributing so many wonderful posts in 2013, and best of luck to her in her new pursuit! I'd love to keep her baby going, so if you're interested in picking up where Karen left off, please contact me at sweetlife@juliausher.com to discuss the possibility.
Second, Aymee VanDyke, author of From Dough to Dollars, wrote me recently and asked that I share the following information with you: "I wanted to take a moment to thank each one of you for your incredible patience . . . I wanted to let you know that I have been dealing with serious health issues since October of last year and have been unable to continue my posts. I am currently undergoing medical treatment and hope to be back in late summer/early fall with many more interesting posts about the business of cookies."
All of us at Cookie Connection wish Aymee a speedy recovery and look forward to her return later this year. In the meantime, I plan to conclude her three-part series on cookie pricing (hopefully next month) and to fill in temporarily with a different take on cookie business issues.
Last but not least, I am beyond thrilled to announce that Rebecca Weld of The Cookie Architect will be joining our team later this month.

Rebecca Weld is author of Practice Bakes Perfect, a monthly blog feature that poses inspiration or challenges to get you to stretch as a cookie artist - for practice, for prizes, and for fun! Rebecca came to cookie decorating from gingerbread house making. As a "real" architect, busy business owner, and mom of two small kids, Rebecca discovered that gingerbread houses had a way of getting out of hand, and that cookie baking offered her a more manageable artistic outlet. Always eager to be a part of the cookie conversation, Rebecca maintains an active Facebook page as The Cookie Architect, as well as Pinterest and Instagram presences.
