I usually then create the words I want to say in a Word doc and print them out; then project the lettering onto a cookie (with a Kopykake or the Camera Lucida app) to trace. Sometimes I also print the lettering on wafer paper or frosting sheets. I might simply print them out and use them as a freehand guide (frame of reference) but usually only when I have one or a few letters rather than a whole word or phrase to put together. (Projecting the image can help with spacing the letters if you're not great at eyeballing.)
