Woo hoo! Congrats to @Teri Pringle Wood for being our first member to surpass 100,000 activity points and to achieve "Cookie Queen" status on our site!
As a reminder, activity points are accumulated by participating in the site in various ways - posting photos; contributing blog posts, forum topics, and surveys; commenting on content; having others comment on your content; and so on. And our activity levels, which range from "Nibbler" to "Cookie Queen", are a way to recognize folks when they surpass certain activity milestones, and to have some fun along the way. (For more details about activity points and levels, check out this recent post.)
Teri has been a prolific poster ever since joining the site back in February 2014, and is alway willing to lend advice when people reach out with questions, so it's no surprise she's the first to receive our virtual cookie crown:
Spurred by Teri's recent change in status, I also just added a "Badges" area to member profiles, where badges like the one above and others will be posted as members earn them over time. (This area is viewable to anyone perusing the site, but only editable by me.) So starting today, I'll be placing badges in profiles whenever anyone reaches "Cookie Queen" status or is nominated for or wins a Cookie Connection Cookiers' Choice Award. As time permits, I may extend badges to recognize other site accomplishments, but I'm starting with the biggies first!
BTW, here's what Teri's new badge looks like on her profile:
Congrats again, Teri! Thanks so much for making this site such a beautiful place and for embracing so many members of our community through your supportive comments and helpful advice!
