Julia, now I'm confused.
Yes, on the home page I can click on a image and be taken to the clip page.
I see it works as you described on blog posts, like the Saturday Spotlight. Clip pages used to be like that too. Are they still supposed to be?
I cannot click on the uploaded image on the clip page and see it at the larger size except for image attachments which do open up in the lightbox/slideshow view. The slideshow however will only show me the attachment pic and will not display any other photos. Is this what should happen?
The slideshow also does not resize the image to fit my tablet in portrait mode but seems okay in landscape (although maybe the image is small enough to fit).
I noticed also a pic I uploaded that was 1200 pixels wide, but when downloaded it, is now 1000 pixels.
If by Clip pages, you mean this page (https://cookieconnection.juliausher.com/clips), then, yes, you can still click on any of these images (just as you could before) and you will be taken to the original clip post that is in the largest possible size. If by Clips pages, you mean an original clip post (such as this: http://cookieconnection.juliau...ountiful-harvest-bkg), then you can't click on the primary image and blow it up any further (on a laptop), because it is already at its maximum possible size on the site. I don't believe you could ever do this before; or at least I never could. HOWEVER, if you are viewing on an iPad or most tablets, you can still zoom in and zoom out on an entire screen and thus see any image even larger.
The attachments under an image or in a blog post were all that could ever be shown in slide show mode (except for home page trending widgets which were always in slide show mode), and nothing has changed here.
Yes, the site automatically resizes images that are bigger/wider than the maximum viewing pane on the site (1000 pixels) to 1000 pixels. So if you download the image again from the site, you'll get a slightly compressed version of it if you uploaded something larger. This was always the case, even with the old site.
As for the slideshow not being resized to fit your tablet in portrait mode, you'd have to send me screenshots of the issues you're having and also the name of your tablet. I tested the site extensively on three devices (and my site hosts did so on many others) and no problems have been encountered here. That's not saying there aren't any, but I would need more info to help diagnose any possible troubles. Please remember that if someone has uploaded a small image to start, the site will not blow it up (it never did). The maximum size that is revealed is constrained by width of viewing panes on the site or the maximum size that the member uploaded. BUT AGAIN, if you are viewing on an iPad or most tablets, you can still zoom in and zoom out on an entire screen and thus see any image even larger though perhaps with some loss of resolution.
