I’m brand new to cookie decorating and this is the first thing that I have ever piped. I am very determined to improve with my piping and flooding but so far after about 50 unsuccessful tries at covering the cookie, I decided to just *dip* the cookie in RI. I was almost too embarrassed to upload this amateurish attempt, but then I remembered ‘everyone starts somewhere’ and I think it will be fun to compare this first attempt with things I will create in a year from now.
I’m so excited to learn from all of you talented, experienced artists and I thank you all for providing such a fun place to hang out and be part of this wonderful community.
So creative! And well done. This is a great space for learning and being nurtured by some amazing cookiers. And you’re right…you gotta start somewhere and this is a great start!

Great cookie - you are being way too hard on yourself! And such a clever idea! I think you intended it for the challenge though, right? If so, to be entered, the cookie needs to go into the "Cookie Connection Challenges" clip set. I added it there for you this time, but please keep this in mind for next time. Also, a question: Your tags say you used edible paper. It's hard to tell from here, but I'm assuming the shark was hand-drawn on wafer paper?? Is that right? Thanks!
Wow!! Sandy, that' s sooo cool and beautiful!! Love the idea too. ❤️ I'm happy for you that you have so much fun decorating cookies! It's something so beautiful!!And yes, this community is awesome!Again, welcome Sandy!@Sandy_S
Hi Sandy, welcome, I am glad you entered the challenge, this cookie is gorgeous, clever and ao much fun. If this is the start then you are off to great things!
So funny to see a shark captured in such a nice crochet net.. why being embarassed? Everybody had a starting point, yours is very good, and it's amazing seeing our improvements, added to the fact that there's always something to learn. Just comtinue and have fun in doing what you love ❤

Hi Julia. Thanks so much for adding it to the clip set for me; I could have sworn I did that but I will be more diligent next time. In answer to the edible paper question: yes, I used water paper and printed a (pd) downloaded picture on my printer (with edible ink). Thank you so much for help, encouragement, and support. 🤗
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I truly appreciate you. I just looked through your clip and I must say, I love your style. It is very diverse and your are a very talented artist. I look forward to seeing more of your creations. 🤗
