Hand painted dahlia on fondantI posted some of what I learned in Comments under the Challenge #53 posting.

The design in my head has been fairly conveyed in this photo; the biggest change for another do-around would be to lower the flower into the cupped hand some more; secondly I would like to experiment more with representing the detail of the hands via other techniques.   It may be that the hands need to be painted to work with the painting of the flower.

The overall effect that I was looking for is similar to @Peg Redman 's recent real life example in her posting at https://cookieconnection.julia...an-the-cookie-artist

I see this lovely flower is intended for the challenge but you did not place it in the challenge clip set (Cookie Connection Challenges). You need to edit this post and add this Clip Set in order for your entry to appear in the challenge. (Select Manage Clip/Edit Clip to the right side of your post to edit it; click on that clip set; then re-save.) if you have troubles, please tag me or @Manu biscotti decorati, and one of us can assist. However, I am heavily involved with managing my competition through Tuesday, so I may be very slow to respond. I can make the change for you, but would rather members get accustomed to making changes, as there is often the need for them after content has been posted.

Great! And nice job on the challenge as well. I really appreciated all of your detailed comments too. One question: Is the flower a double layer of fondant? It almost looks as if there is a mauve under-layer of fondant or icing and then another layer that the daisy is painted on, as you've got some nice dimension there.

Thank you @Julia M. Usher! The mauve under-layer is a glaze icing flood.  The painting of the hand detail is also on a glaze icing flood.

It is hard to create dimension with a painting!

Awesome work!! I absolutely love this. Great job with painting the flower on fondant! @EAC. Hands are incredibly difficult to capture realistically. You've done a fabulous job with this task along with the challenge. ❤️ Hugs...

Thank you so much @EAC for participating to the challenge. Thank you for linking to @Peg Redman‘s post so we could appreciate and understand how you got inspired to produce this beautiful entry. I liked so much how you have been inspired by a real life example in a picture of a fellow cookier and put your spin to create this cookie.

Thank you also for sharing in detail your peronal learning experience along this challenge in your comment under the Challenge #53 blog post. That’s the challenge spirit!

Anyone can read it EAC’s comment here, but I thought I’d attached also the comment screenshots because they are worth to be under this post as well.
