Dad’s Garage
My Father’s Day cookies! So fun to make this set. Inspired by my hubby who loves to spend hours in the garage doing I don’t know what kind of “details” to his toy car and other stuff.

The cookie is mostly covered with fondant. The background of the cookie (the wall) in wich i applied my crazy embroidery technique 😜 First it’s covered with 5 layers of colors, gray, 3 tones of red and orange. After the first layer was dried, i used a brush with very thick bristles and very thin RI to add that texture with some not very gently touches , repeated many times until i got the texture i wanted, and once in a while i took the excess away with a damp cloth.

Your brick effect looks very realistic, however, your description sounds more like a stippling technique rather than a traditional brush embroidery technique. That said, I don’t see brush embroidery used as a dominant technique on this cookie as Rule 1 of the challenge requires, so unfortunately, I will have to remove this clip from the challenge clip set. Your cookies do look great and you have great attention to detail.

Oh! ☹️ Well, i agree this is not a traditional embroidery technique, and i thought when reading the requirements it didn’t have to look traditional, i guess i took it too far!😅 i had fun making these cookies!☺️

Yes, the idea was to take make a design that was completely non-traditional using the traditional technique. So, you would pipe the icing and then brush it - just like you normally would for brush embroidery - but then create an out-of-the box design...using the traditional technique. I hope that makes sense.
