How wonderful! I sure miss him! What collaboration did you make it for? (I noticed you chose the collaboration clip set, so I was curious.)
Well, Julia, I am trying really hard to move the Brazilian Cookie Community. So every month I choose a theme, mostly from Brazilian Culture, and early of the following month is the revelation. Because of the circunstances, I decided to use #blacklives in portuguese so we wouldn't look too foolish making dress cookies when the world is going crazy. But the Brazilian mindset is not good. Most don't participate because they don't want to see the collabs succeed, wasn't them that had the idea, they don't want ME to succeed, specially now that I have my YouTube channel, bla, bla, bla. And I just founded the Brazilian Cookie Society, a registered Non-Governmental group to help with the cookie art aspect of creating cookies. Boy, oh, boy, am I not very liked in the Brazilian community right now by the veterans, Am I? They are too narrow minded, aren't able to see the big picture, and all the benefits, so it sucks. However, I will not give up. This was our 3rd Collab. Please delete if inappropriate. Thank you.

I just don't understand why people wouldn't want to support you in expanding the cookie decorating experience there - maybe people are just too distracted and worried about the coronavirus?? I know it's hard for me to take on new things right now, as I am barely finding the strength and focus - in light of all the bad news - to keep my current activities going. Anyway, whatever the reason, hang in there, and keep creating beautiful things. We love seeing them here!

It's cultural. Life in Brazil is really, really hard. So I think that it is like that fear of loosing ground, not been in the frontlines. This great fear of the competition. Everybody wants to be famous and have 2 million followers, kinda shallow thing. It's really sad and depressing to see... Tears go down my eyes, right now, to be honest. But there are a number of ladies that are happy with what I do, so I will focus on them. Thank you, Julia. I really do thank you.

Yes, I’m afraid latinamerican culture is VERY different. As Elke sadly mentions, everybody assumes that the rest are a threat to their business, very negative and corrupt. That was one of the first issues that shocked me when I went to the States the first time, everybody was so selfless and generous, always encouraging and supportive. I know it’s not heaven and we do have many people in our culture who are different, but it’s sometimes very difficult down here. There’s a saying in Argentina, “you feel like rowing in dulce de leche” (a kind of soft caramel).
Dear @Elke Hoelzle you are not alone, know that we are here for you and that you have a bunch of lovely people who support you in Brazil. God bless you ♥️
So beautifully done dear Elke @Elke Hoelzle! Such amazing attention to every detail. As always, your work shines with beauty and your unique cookie art talent ❤️❤️
