The fairy flies to frozen winter. When the fairy touches the frozen flowers, the flower and leaf start coloring.
How I made my molded cookies (Fairy in Winter)
Dough: I added 20% more flour to Springerle dough recipe. The shapes of the molds are really complicated, so the dough needs to be hard to hold the shape. The recipe is following.
After I mold the dough, I de-mold it and dry it over 24 hours then I bake it.
Christmas Tree
I molded the dough with a rose mold. I de-mold them, dried them for about one day then I baked them. I painted with silver, after that I stacked them to make a shape of a tree. I decorated the tree with sprinkles and royal icing.
Winter flowers in a basket
After I baked it, I painted and dust with fine silver powder.
Fairy
After I baked it, I painted.
It was very hard to mold with this one. After many trials, I found the dough really needs to be hard but if it is too hard it may have wrinkles. When I bake it, I covered the molded dough with aluminum foil to avoid getting burnt part.
I was really happy when I found this mold but any dough did not work until I accidentally added too much flour to Springerle dough. I still did not know what to do after I baked it. While I was playing with molded roses of my other entry to Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #19, I thought I could make a tree with roses then a whole idea came out.
I bought all those mold from internet store called “Ever Green” in Japan.
Please note that they sell their items to only domestic (Japan) and they may not reply to inquiries from overseas. They do not sell these molds for food to be molded (Food Sanitation Law). I write this in Japanese for Japanese people. Ever Greenさんの型は食品用として販売していません。(食品衛生法)
Love these, Roko! The little fairy girl is my favorite! Wouldn't one of these make a great cake topper? Nicely done.
Hi Kim, thank you. After I molded this fairy I really did not know what to do with her and left her for days. Finally she is here to make people happier!

Lovely scene! I am especially impressed with how you constructed your tree. Very creative and pretty! Your description of your process is fabulous, as usual, Ryoko!

It was hard to think something creative with molded cookies but after all I found it fun to combine them just like building blocks. Thank you to this challenge and opportunity, I could try something new again.
