IMG_0826I followed Anna’s excellent tutorial for the cornflowers. I struggled a little to get my icing consistency just right, but I loved the end results.

I added a hand-painted wafer paper butterfly because I get lots of them in my garden too, and I painted the sticks green to blend them in

Thank you @Anna_Sunday_Cookers
and @Manu biscotti decorati

For the zinnias, I had some trial and error. I baked my cookies in a silicone wheel-shaped mold, and then decorated. I used petal tip 81 for the petals, piping a layer around and then airbrushing from the center out before piping on the next layer so the petals had a slight ombre on each overlapping layer.
I was working late at night, so please pardon the lighting, and I forgot to take more in-progress shots, so I hope these few get the idea across.
Zinnias are among my favorite flowers, and I definitely want to play around with them to get a more realistic look.

One more comment… this was a lovely bonding opportunity with my daughters. We followed the instructions and created cornflowers together. This wasn’t their first time using a piping bag, but they’ve never made anything on this level. I thought they did amazing. Here are a few photos of them & their work. They loved using the airbrush.

Everything about this entry is so special, dear Susie! I love your cornflowers and your bright zinnias, they are gorgeous! The 🦋 gives it such a delicate touch.

But most of all, I love the time you shared with your beautiful daughters. So special for you all, and their flowers are so pretty too. Congratulations!!♥️

Thank you Heather! I’ve been seeing all the gorgeous flowers you are making, and I couldn’t wait to get the chance to partake in the challenge! Piping flowers is so fun, and I wish I had time to practice more. ☺️

Thank you Susie @Susie Jacobs for participating to the challenge with this gorgeous entry. I noticed that you practiced piping all the three stages of Anna’s cornflower cookies and applied the same concept also to the zinnia and sunflowers cookies. I think you enjoyed the challenge to the fullest and you nailed. I am sure Anna @Anna_Sunday_Cookers will be thrilled to see your work.

The step by step pictures of the zinnia flower cookies are perfect. The cookie with a message and the wafer paper butterfly are a great addition to your entry. Thank you for sharing the tip of painting the skewer green.

I am glad to read that this challenge was a lovely opportunity of bonding with your daughters and you built memories. They actually did a good job with their piped flower cookies! They could have entered as well (as long as they are over the age of 13).

As I already said,  Dear @Susie Jacobs, Your floral cookie bouquet turned out absolutely stunning! 🌸🍪  The way you arranged the cookies to resemble a beautiful bouquet is simply impressive. Each cookie looks like a delicate flower, and the colors you chose are so vibrant and eye-catching. You truly have a knack for this art form. Keep up the fantastic work. Well done!

Oh thank you so much, Manu! My younger girl is just 11. I really did enjoy the challenge and was so glad I found the time to complete it!
