I made this topiary because I wanted to experiment with larger spheres and contours. It was inspired by one of @Julia M. Usher 3-D projects - the spring garden with topiaries. This is primarily made of gingerbread, all edible materials, almost 3 feet tall. (It's for a charity auction.) I learned a lot about contouring and structural support!

Awesome work - I bet it brings big bucks for the charity! Thanks for the shout-out too!

Julia, did you notice the "tile"?! I suspect the stencil looks familiar! 😂

OMG, no! I thought that was a quilted mat, but I see it's all cookie now! Wow - you went all out! You must have some form of support board under all that?

Yes. It's a large board - 24X24. I played around with several of your other background stencil designs but picked this one because it was a bit more forgiving in terms of lining up the cookies. They're gingerbread hexagons using your construction recipe. They hold up really well as the base. I'm attaching a photo before I secured and "caulked" with royal icing
Wow! What a fabulous Christmas presentation @LisaF!! Love all the meticulous detail. Toparies are so much fun but I can imagine the time you put into this project...the time was worth it! You did an awesome job ❤️.

Thank you so much @Cookies Fantastique. I learned an awful lot from this project and there were a number of fails. I initially had a cookie pole connecting the two spheres (it broke). I also had a third sphere, which fell off and cracked. In both incidents, the fail happened several hours after I thought I was in the clear. So, it was all quite dramatic. LOL!!!
