Unique designs, excellent skills, flexible ideas…. Everyday, every hour, we can see something new from all over the world on Cookie Connection. I have never thought I could see so many amazing cookies day by day. Not only cookies, but this sweet white icing can be anything. Awesome!
Miniatures made with royal icing is one of those that interest me and I always wanted to learn how to make miniature.
Naturally I decided to make “Breakfast in Bed for Mom”, tutorial by @Aproned Artist
Thanks to Samantha of Aproned Artist, I could make miniatures and bed by just following her instructions. I am very satisfied with the outcome and I am very happy because I could learn a lot through making this set.
Step 1 : create plate transfer
I do not have similar silicon mold, I used acetate for the transfer. “Drop the mold on the counter from a height of a few inches to help distribute the icing “, that’s something I wanted to do, though.
Step 2 : create coffee mug
I usually do not use tips because I want to avoid extra washings of tips but this time I used tips. I found it fun to make a mug with Wilton #12 tip. I didn’t know this big tip could make a mug. My icing was a bit looser than it should be to make “foot” and handle of the mug (I think).
Step 3: create wicker tray
It was difficult to make the same size of lines. My tray is very bumpy.
Step4: create eggs Benedict
I believed I should not touch icing but to make English muffin, I use finger to make the shape! This is really new to me.
I crushed a black sugar pearl and found out the inside of mine was pink and it was hard to pick black parts. So what I did was I made thin line with black icing and after it dried I crushed it.
Step 5: create asparagus
Well, mine are thin
Step 6: create flower and stem
I should have made the flower puffier. For the leaf, my tip was one size smaller, probably I should have squeezed the bag a bit stronger.
I have even painted the plate but don’t look closer, I made some big mistakes.
Thank you Samantha of @Aproned Artist , it is a great tutorial and it was fun! I learned a lot. I am looking forward to your next excellent tutorials.
Ryoko, it's awesome! I showed my husband, and it took him a good minute to realize it wasn't mine. Bonus points for making the chocolate chip cookie version too!

Samantha, thank you I am very honored but I know I need more practices.
FABULOUS! I really, really would like to try this tutorial myself. I think miniatures are fascinating. You did an absolutely brilliant job here, Ryoko. This particular tutorial had a lot of intricate steps, and you appear to have mastered all of them! Your description of your process is incredible, as usual. This is a fantastic entry to the challenge!

Thank you, Christine. There are so many intricate steps.
