I'm in the northern hemisphere and chose cool colors.
The antennae on the center part and the leafy parts are over piped Isomalt transfers, but I made them too thin, and my clumsy fingers broke them a few times. Had to "glue" them back on with Isomalt and reinforce them on the back.
The idea to use flowers as the four wing parts and overall design are my own, but the leafy parts were inspired by different butterfly art works on the Internet as is the idea to make the butterfly body in the form of a female...

Sorry for the late reply, Carol. Meant to write, but got distracted and forgot again... My hands are actually not that steady, especially after coffee, haha! But you know, in cookie decoration most of the time one has ways to cover up mistakes and accidents . A tutorial... I'm working full-time at the moment, and am using most of my free time for decorating to counteract the stress, but maybe sometime in the future. But yes, I do love Isomalt A LOT. It's so versatile! I wish I could try out all the ideas that came to mind on how it could be used . It only has one big drawback: it's hard to handle during times of high humidity, gets sticky and cloudy.... This is absolutely STUNNING! This design is absolutely brilliant and the level of detail sublime. The moody cool color palette works so perfectly with this design. Please, tel me, why you used isomalt at all if there are cookies under the butterfly body, rather than just do a standard royal icing transfer... I am intrigued!

There is only one stem extending from the main body, 5mm the most at the broadest point, carrying the whole weight of the entire swirly part. Royal icing alone would've never been strong enough for this. Even Isomalt (with royal icing on top of it!) broke on me there a couple of times (and a few times at other places as well) , because I 'poured' it too thin. Had to reinforce the breaks with a thick droplet on the back.
