Thank you! She said that they were too nice to eat so I made sure to throw in a couple of basic marbled cookies to get her started.

WOW!! Dots, dots and more dots! Incredible needlepoint design. Really amazing!

Thank you, Barb. I'm a bit obsessed with dots and all things that are lined up and orderly!

Thank you, Evelin. My New Year's resolution is to try other techniques. I can get a bit carried away with all those dots!

Thank you, Carol. One trick is that I pipe the white beads relatively quickly - if they are slightly off, it's not really noticeable. But I take my time piping the black beads, making sure they are lined up and do not touch each other. The black beads are what stand out so I can "cheat" with the white beads. I only have sporadic use of a phone with a good camera, which I didn't have for this shot, but the dots are all separated. I don't think it shows well in the photo.

Great way to approach needlepoint designs! I start counting and then can get mixed up in the design. Do you use a grid to plan out each cookie so that you know where to put each of the black dots? This pic is awesome. The music notes show up perfectly

Fortunately, there are tons of needlepoint/cross stitch/crochet charts out there, so it was pretty easy to see how the music note patterns went. And yes, I always plan out my patterns - they have to be centered - this way, I'll know how many lines to pipe, and I can plan the size of my cookie. Another tip is that I trim my cookie down to size AFTER I've finished the needlepoint. It looks like I made the cookie the perfect size but I didn't.   And I mess up my designs all the time because my mind starts to wander. I just view it as practice and start all over again.
