When I first created a royal icing "sketch" of this pattern, I immediately saw four interwoven triangles - a design that suits this pattern perfectly. I also love the three-dimensional detail that is created when the lines are layered upon each other.
Below are photos of the cookie shown from different angles. It is really hard to show the true three-dimensional effect with photographs. It's something that you have to see in person. Also shown is my original royal icing "sketch" done in white icing.
The star pattern that you see scribed onto the cookie in the last photo is the basic pattern that I started with. Once I have a basic pattern, I pretty much experiment until I find something that works. Many times I have misses that I do not post. But every once in a while I get something that I like.
This is amazing Christine @Sweet Prodigy! I was so drawn to the geometry and all the lines, then I read the caption and all of a sudden the triangles appeared!
Oh how gorgeous Christine @Sweet Prodigy!!! I absolutely love the color combination and the stringwork design is fabulous - so 3D ❤️❤️❤️. I would absolutely LOVE for you to do a tutorial about this technique (hint, hint ).
You make me smile. Didn't I tell you that flower girl went into your gigantic string world (It is like a big maze) and she's still in there? She's coming out eventually because she is eating those strings
Wspaniały projekt, mogę sobie wyobrazić jak wygląda w oryginale, zapewne imponująco ❤️. Zgadzam się z Tobą @Sweet Prodigy ciężko jest pokazać urodę Twoich projektów na foto

Thanks @Manu biscotti decorati! When I saw the triangles, I also saw four triangles that appeared to be impossibly woven together. And I knew this was a winner!

Thank you Carol @Cookies Fantastique! I have the patience to spend hours piping detailed lines but I do not have the patience to spend an hour trying to angle just right a dollar store phone holder. I will keep working on it. Promise.

@Teresa Pękul Maybe one day they will all phones and computers will show pictures in 3-D!
Very nice piping. Are the lines prone to breaking?
Thank you @Ve. Not necessarily (and so long as I don't touch any of the strings) but I find that tiny air bubbles are the biggest cause of breakage when I'm piping.
