Hi, all, if you didn't already catch the Internet buzz, August is Bake to Defeat ALS month in the cookie community!

Take a Bite

Bake to Defeat ALS is not an organized event of The ALS Association, but has been spearheaded by Anita Cadonau-Huseby from Sweet Hope Cookies to raise ALS awareness and money to help support medical research and other activities of The ALS Association.

I encourage you to join this challenge and incredible cause by donating proceeds from baking, helping to spread the word, making a straight-up cash donation, or doing any one (or more) of the things that Anita suggests here.

Here at Cookie Connection, we're trying to do our part by spreading the word. Throughout the month of August, we'll be featuring any cookies baked for the cause on the home page of the site. We'll also be showcasing these cookies and the cause in social media and our weekly Saturday Spotlight. Just be sure to upload your images to our "Cookies for a Cause" clip set and to tag and entitle them with the hashtag "#BaketoDefeatALS" to ensure that the ALS message is spread when your images get shared from this site.

And, again, for all of the various ways you can rise to the challenge, please visit baketodefeatals.com. We've already got at least one member paving the way; you can read all about how she's contributing to the cause here!

Well, wait...  I just saw about home baker info on their site.  I don't know, no one buys/pays for cookies if its free.  Not sure my daughter would be allowed to do this.  I'll ask her to ask for a possibility and/or permission.

Really, a promo on TV? Where? This has been a grassroots effort, so I'm interested to know where it popped into mainstream media.
