Deactivation

Hi, A2Z, Not sure if you're aware, but you can easily change your email notifications to receive as many or as few emails from this site as you like. There are complete instructions for doing this here on this forum:

I hope you'll take this approach before deactivating your account, as we'd love to have you here!

This doesn't explain how to deactivate the account. I was really excited about signing up but when I noticed I received well over 200 emails in less than 12 hours, it just irritated me. Then I turned off all notifications and still within 5 min I got about 12 more email and they just keep coming as I am typing this. PLEASE HOW DO YOU DEACTIVATE!!!!!!!!

Have you given the system some time to register your request? I assure you, that if you click the box at the top of the page (to receive no email notifications), you will not get any in the future. But those emails may have been mid-transit when you made the request.

I personally have to deactivate accounts, so I want to be sure that people are aware of all of the ways to manage email flow before I do. Once you are deleted, you will not be able to comment on anything on the site, and I would have to manually enter you again if you choose to rejoin. I do not want to make extra work for people if it is not necessary.

Same thing happened to me, I received hundreds of emails as soon I registered, just set up your notifications and enjoy the site!
