I am sure a bunch of you can relate -- you spend tons of time on Facebook, be it personal or for your business/hobby page...this new site may be my "new Facebook!" I love it!! Thank you, Julia and all of the other contributors that have made it possible for all of us to share in the love of cookies!

Ha! Thanks. Actually, one of the primary reasons I started the site was because I thought it was getting increasingly hard for people to get exposure for their great work on Facebook without having to pay for everything. That, and the fact that it's so hard to locate discussion threads and content in Facebook groups. Once it's posted, it rapidly slips away. Here (hopefully), content will stay cataloged nicely and be easier to find.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Facebook groups in which I participate (and I fully intend to remain active in them), but they serve a different - equally good - purpose.

Glad you're enjoying this space!

Thanks, everyone! So far so good - we've gotten a great response and there have only been a few small troubles, all easily fixed. I love all the amazing work that I'm seeing - just incredible!

Thanks for this incredible place for everything and anything "cookies"! I could spend hours here! ( actually I AM spending hours here- maybe I should get myself up off the chair and make some cookies!)

We also believe this site is an outstanding way of sharing not only pictures but knowledge, to exchange views and help each other, something that with other social networks is completely impossible. We love the educational part of the site, as we all have doubts or techniques we need to improve, and that is something that we really value. Once again Julia, thanks for the idea. And maybe, with a bit of luck we may 'jump the ocean' and see some of you next year in the CookieCon!

It's been a source of reaffirmation of my love of everything cookies. And you all have been inspiring and supportive.

It is a wonderful place for me to come and lose myself, learn, share, express , be awed and impressed.

Thanks to all of you and Julia , you have put together cookie heaven,

CookieCon, what? Now I have to go look that up!

Thanks again, everyone! So glad to hear that everyone is enjoying the site. We'll be adding more guest bloggers and other content over time, so my hope is that it will only get better/more informative.

Tina, here's the info about CookieCon: http://cookieconnection.juliau...endar/cookiecon-2014

As far as I know, it was the first-ever cookie decorating convention perhaps in the world! It was first held in 2012, and returns to Salt Lake City, Utah from March 20-22, 2014. As of yesterday, I did not see any registration info on their site, but I am told that reg will be opening soon. Probably a good idea to keep close tabs on that page for updates, as the convention sold out very quickly last time.

I read somewhere that CookieCon is sold out. I'm thinking about crashing it in case someone doesn't make it.

Facebook is my long distance connection to far away family and friends.

I haven't been on FB very much since I signed on as a member of "Cookie Connection".

@Cookies! Parr Excellence, I haven't seen any announcement of 2014 CookieCon tickets yet. The last statement on the CookieCon Facebook page was dated June 25, and they said they'd let us know soon. https://www.facebook.com/CookieCon

If you've seen something to the contrary, please let me know. I'd like to post links to their reg information on this site.

Everyone else, thanks again for the kind words about the site. I'm thrilled to no end that people are enjoying and learning from it!
