Oh my, time is whizzing by this year! I was worried that I might not get to celebrate Easter, as it is bookended by two major travel-teaching trips, one of which includes my annual cookie art competition this coming weekend at That Takes the Cake Show. (I am scrambling to pack as we speak.) But as soon as I saw what @Icingsugarkeks had selected for our April site art, I was reassured by the knowledge that I could just open up our site, wherever I happened to be, and soak up the Easter spirit! Thank you for your prescience in making this selection, Gabi!
This month's charming cookie art, a take on Peter Rabbit (a character now in the public domain, and thus not subject to copyright claims), was created by longtime site member, challenge contributor, and previous site artist @Zeena. Zeena's original cookie post can be found here, and Gabi's jazzed-up versions of it are now displaying in our banner and backdrop, and also directly below. Isn't it all just delightful?!

Zeena Mohammad, aka @Zeena, was born and raised in Sri Lanka before she migrated to New Zealand. She now resides in Los Angeles, USA. She works at a library and is an avid cake decorator who fell in love with cookie decorating after watching Julia’s videos. Zeena has been married for 37 years and is mom to two boys (ages 21 and 24 years). Her sons have been her biggest fans, and also critics. The support she receives from her husband and boys has paved the way for her to become better at decorating. Zeena took various classes in Sri Lanka and even entered a cake competition where she earned first place. Her love for cake decorating began in her early teens, and now she regularly bakes cakes for family and friends in addition to taking orders. She also loves cooking, baking, vegetable and fruit carving, and cross-stitch.
During the pandemic, Zeena entered the Cookie Connection challenges and learned more about cookie decorating. Zeena thrives on learning new techniques and constantly improving her skills. She finds decorating cakes and cookies quite therapeutic as well. Zeena has been a member of Cookie Connection since July 2016.
