Ooh, this month's site art is so perfectly evocative of spring with its cheery cherry blossoms, luminous isomalt glass, and vibrant colors! After last month's polar vortex, it's certainly a welcome harbinger of spring! Aren't the banner and backdrop (below, and now gracing these spots on the site) just glorious?!

You can thank none other than @Vanilla & Me, aka Svetla Petrova, for being the creative mastermind behind these works. Check out her original cookie rendition called "Piping on Isomalt", posted to Cookie Connection in July 2020!

Of course, thanks once again to Gabi, aka @Icingsugarkeks and Cookie Connection's Site Art Stylist, for transforming Svetla's original cookie art into the forms needed to fit our site banner and backdrop - and for adding her own special flair. (Did you notice the tiny falling blossom petal in the banner? Yes, that sweet touch was all Gabi's doing!)

As always, I'll be interviewing Svetla in the coming weeks for an in-depth Cookier Close-up, but the interview with our January site artist, @Annelise (Le bois meslé), currently in the works, is slated to post first. In the meantime, sit back and get to know Svetla better by exploring her bio and various social media links below!

Svetla Cropped

@Vanilla & Me (aka Svetla Petrova) is a 34-year-old mum of two girls. She and her family live in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since childhood, Svetla has been in love with fine and applied art. In 2007, she graduated from university with degrees in fashion design and graphic design, which she pursued as a career until she found the world of sugar art and baking in 2016. Ever since, decorating cakes and biscuits has become her main activity and greatest passion. In 2019, she won Gold Awards for her cookie displays at the prestigious Cake International in London and Birmingham. Svetla has been a member of Cookie Connection since March 2017. You can follow her cookie pursuits here in her Cookie Connection portfolio and also on her Instagram and Facebook pages.

Again, congrats to Svetla! I look forward to learning more about her - and her Cake International winning entries (wow!) - when I interview her for her Close-up. Stay tuned!

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through June 2021 and also for September 2021, so I am specifically looking for art for July, August, October, November, and December 2021. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
