CookieCon 2015 Countdown!

T-minus eight days until my official arrival at my first ever CookieCon in Salt Lake City, Utah. My husband swears it's called "CookieCon" because he's being conned into taking care of our four kids for four (okay, almost five) days. I endeavor to chronicle my adventures in this blog for those not able to attend . . . as well as to prove to him the legitimacy of the event and necessity of my presence.

I have no idea what to expect! I'm sure I'll be blown away by the talent and creativity of everyone there. I look forward to providing you all a colorful and humor-filled glimpse of this sweet world from the eyes of a newcomer and someone who fell into this business quite by accident. Cookie making has impressed upon me, more than anything, that you have to be able to laugh at yourself and accept that you will make mistakes (many, many, many mistakes). I hope you all will be understanding if the same holds true for my first attempt at blogging about CookieCon! The fact that the husband and four kids will be 2,090 miles away bodes well for all of us (except maybe him . . . ).

Jen Wagman is the owner of Sugar (Cookie) Momma, Inc., founded in July 2012 on a complete lark following a couple of her kids' birthday parties and a dare from a good friend. In the ensuing years, Jen's cookies have been featured at corporate and private events, and the United States Capitol. She lives outside Annapolis, Maryland with her husband Matt and four kids (including four-year-old identical twin boys). Jen is also a practicing veterans' law attorney in Washington, D.C. Her cookie philosophy is to have a solid combination of a delicious cookie and a fearless attitude toward decorating. Trying and failing is part of the process. Imperfect cookies will still make somebody very happy (especially in the Wagman house!).

Interesting thought - I do too. I bet you it's a fairly large percentage though, since we've got over 7,000 members here.

I'd have to talk to Mike about doing something like this next time - too late now. Not sure how easy it would be to cross-reference their list with my member list; it would likely be a chore. But if I were going, it would be easy enough to hand out buttons to members at my booth . . . I'll try to remember this idea for next time.

mike allows customizing on name tags, so it could have been part of the name tag.  Like you say a little late.

I'm really looking forward to your blogs. I can't go this time as my husband thinks a tenth anniversary trip together is more important than cookies for some reason - still holding out hope for the future!
