Oh my, the weather here has been a real rollercoaster lately, with warm, cheery springlike highs all of last week plummeting into icy, abysmal lows over the last couple of days. I don't know about you, but I'm growing weary of the radically changing temperatures - and my corresponding radically changing moods. That's why I decided to brighten my outlook this week with a roundup full of colorful flowers and sweet bunnies, birds, and butterflies! Yes, let's toss winter aside and give spring a resounding "hello" with this weeks' hot list*, a collection of the site's sunniest (aka top-trending) springtime sweets! (Now try saying that three times fast, LOL! 😀) Today's list features cookies ranging from very fresh to very old (meaning posted many moons ago, not stale!); from simply painted to lavishly piped; and from 2-D to fully 3-D. In other words, there's some seasonal joy here for all of you, no matter your cookie decorating level or personal taste.
Special congrats to @Dolce Flo, who may be surprised to learn that her piece called "Rebirth" is experiencing a rebirth of its own, just now achieving cover image-status after having been posted to Cookie Connection about five years ago! Also, extra kudos to @Evelindecora and @iSugarfy (aka swissophie) who were both honored twice, also for cookies posted in the distant past (six to eight years ago, to be exact)!
But now let's take a closer look at all of the week's featured springtime beauties, including those by @Susie Jacobs, @Holly Dottarar, @Kim Damon, @Heather Bruce Sosa, and @Teri Pringle Wood . . .

Honorees, congrats again on your gorgeous work! I trust it cheered up everyone as much as it did me. BTW, if you're looking for further motivation to make springtime (or at least nature-inspired) cookies, I encourage you to check out the rules for my annual cookie art competition. The official Competition Overview post, complete with the theme (Nature's Symphony), schedule, rules, and registration link, posted on February 28, and you've got three full months to create before entries are due! My judges and I are eager to see your interpretations this year.
All for now! Have a great weekend, and keep those springtime cookies coming!
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.
