For those of us who celebrate American Thanksgiving, the kitchen is the place to be right now. I like to do as much cooking as I can in advance so that the day itself is less stressful. Reducing stress is important not only because I like to enjoy the spirit of the day, but also because the day after Thanksgiving is the start of the year's most serious stretch of holiday baking! I've recently added a number of cookie deadlines to my calendar and, I must say, my dance card is very full this year!
Fortunately, Cookie Connection is a consistent and reliable source of inspiration. And aspiration! This week's hot list* has plenty of both in sets that run the gamut from newly posted to very familiar blasts from the past. When you take a look at the honorees, be sure to click on the person's name (in pink), which will bring you to the original post. The comments section under each post is often filled with all sorts of tips and interesting details about the posted cookie(s). As has been the case over the past couple of weeks, I'm keeping my comments to a minimum but would love to hear from you! Please share some of what you find to be inspirational and aspirational about this week's collection in the comments under this post.
Let's get started, shall we?
#1: Fall Front Door by Treatfairy [EDITOR'S NOTE: A special shout-out to @Treatfairy for her set appearing in this Spotlight's cover art. These charming doors are so warm and welcoming, and thus convey the meaning of Thanksgiving so perfectly, that I couldn't pass them up for the coveted cover spot! ~JMU]
#2: Thanksgiving Sweaters by Susie Jacobs
#3: Fall Fireplace by Zeena
#4: Sea Dragon by Sofiya [EDITOR'S NOTE: Another special congrats to @Sofiya, who I believe is a first-time honoree. Such an original submission; I'm wondering what the occasion was for its creation?! ~JMU]
#5: Christmas Nativity Scene - Front by Monique Churchward [EDITOR'S NOTE: And yet another nod to @Monique Churchward, who posted for the first time this week and made it all the way to this Spotlight! An impressive feat! ~JMU]
#6: British Christmas Tea by Cajun Home Sweets
#7: Advent Calendar (2024) by Gingerland
#8: Merry and Bright by Cookies on Cambridge
#9: Pink Christmas Royal Icing Decorated Cookies by Goloven Olga
#10: Leaf Collection by Karla [EDITOR'S NOTE: And yet another call-out to @Karla who, if my memory serves me correctly, is also being featured here for the first time for these fabulously fiery fall leaves! Congrats! ~JMU]
So, what are your thoughts? Again, I'd love to hear from you!
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a joyful and peaceful week. If you're traveling, stay safe. And, if you celebrate American Thanksgiving, have a very happy holiday! [EDITOR'S NOTE: I echo Lisa's wishes for a terrific Thanksgiving! Please enjoy your time off with family and friends, and remember to count your blessings for them and your other gifts in life! Do not take anything in life for granted. ❤️ ~JMU]
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.
