Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Cookies

Hippity, hoppity, Easter's on its way! Yes, indeed, the site is overrun with Easter cookies, and each day they seem to multiply even faster than the progeny of the Easter Bunny!  This Spotlight is testament to the fact that Easter's right up there with Christmas and Valentine's Day as one of cookiers' favorite holidays to cookie. This week's hot list* contains NOT a single cookie that isn't related to Easter eggs, chicks, bunnies, or flowers in some way - and Easter is still 36 days, 6 hours, 59 minutes, and 40 seconds away!

If you're not in the Easter or springtime cookie mode yet, then this post is sure to hip-hop you quite speedily down that trail . . . it's like a sweet spring carrot peeking out of the garden patch, tempting you to unearth it and gobble it up. (I know, a bit weak, but I just had to keep that bunny metaphor going . . . )

Anyway, please enjoy the eye candy, and say congrats to our honorees along the way!

Thanks to our honorees for adding such splendid springtime color and cheer to our site this week! I can't wait to see what's yet to come as spring nears closer in the coming weeks.

Don't forget: I will be at CookieCon teaching next weekend, so there won't be a Spotlight in the usual sense. I will, however, be posting a recap of the CookieCon Sugar Show instead. Depending on when I receive the materials for that recap, it will post here on either next Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Stay tuned!

* As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

Oh, I didn't expect this at all, thank you.    We don't do anything special on Easter here in Japan but I wanted to make something with my egg-shaped cookie cutter and Lambeth piping.  I am so happy to see my cookies along with cute bunnies, beautiful eggs and pretty spring themed cookies.

Thank you again and congratulations to featured artists!
