Lovely! Would love to hear how you did the stained glass-like overlays on the sides!

Thank you! It was a mix of watercolor and more solid use of the Wilton gel. I intended to post just the white version, but wasn't happy. It missed some soul. I did not have much time to paint, only 40 minutes before the sunset and no more light to take a picture, so I went to a more organic work, alternating watercolor, and mixing lemon green and green, using full strenght gels at times.  I realy thank you all for the compliments! And Julia. More and more I admire you amazing 3D work. It is hard to do!!

Oh Elke, this is so so beautiful, love the colours, techniques 👏👏

Thank you so much, Petra! It means a lot to me. I was very ill and in the hospital, and I was sure I would not be anble to be part of the challenge this time. But I not only did it, I also was able to do a test run before the final piece! Crasy me!😁😁💪💪

Sorry Julia, I gorgot to mention the overlays. I first covered all in white , and then traced the design on top and flooded them. So they became higher then the other parts. With the PME #1 I traced around the design after it was dry. So technically, are 3 layers of royal icing. Base, design flooding and the lines around the design. I hope it helps!

Thanks for all the explanations; they really do help those here who are trying to learn more (i.e., all of us!) Also, I am so sorry to hear about your hospital stay, but hope you are fully recovered and healthy now!

A beautiful entry, Elke!!! I really hope you are feeling better!

I can so relate, three years ago I did my best to recover quickly from a surgery only to participate to the challenge! 💕

Stunningly beautiful Elke @Elke Hoelzle!! I, too, was so glad to read about the process you used to make the stained glass effect on the sides of the box. It's very creative. The box is gorgeous with the beautiful colors and the gorgeous floral design. I'm wondering about the feet...these almost look like they're cookies made from a rose type mold??? Could you let us in on the details of this?

Such a fun challenge!!! I had so wanted to participate as I had a few ideas but have been working hard to get orders done on time...it is that time of year, right?!

I am loving all the gorgeous works of art being created here at CC ❤️❤️❤️. The talent on this site blows me away over and over again.

This is a beautiful, beautiful box! I agree, I am not sure which version I like better - this one or the unpainted all-white version. I am a color girl, so I think I lean toward this version, but they are both equally beautiful! I would love to know a little bit more about the construction of the box - like wether you used a template, whether the whole weight of the box in resting on the four small feet (and what the feet are made of - royal icing? fondant? molded cookie?). Also, I assume you did all of that intricate floral piping before assembling the box, but would love confirmation! I love how you have very clean edges to your box. It balances the very ornate floral design to have the unadorned box corners. Really, this is a wonderful entry!

Thank you for worrying about me! One of the issues is a  vascular problem.  More rest! I will be ok after surgery!  Gratitude, always!😘
