This is the first of four photos featured in Cake Central Magazine's "White Christmas Wedding" section. I love that there are no superfluous elements to this design. I think that beauty can be found in simplicity. I was a bit nervous to pipe the deer directly onto the cookie as this was my first time doing any sort of volume work, so I piped it as a royal icing transfer. The border and stars are hand painted with Rolkem super silver and I dusted the background with Wilton pearl luster dust.

You look at your cookie and you would never know this was your first time it's absolutely gorgeous you're very talented you can do anything you want with a cookie

Thanks for those encouraging words, Anne Marie. I have a cookie bucket list that I'm slowly going through.

I know what you mean. I have a barrel full I just don't seem to have enough time to get one out

Lovely, would love a tutorial!

I'm assuming you mean the deer since the rest of the cookie is pretty straightforward.  A video would probably be best for this (I need to work on my video skills), but for now I can explain that I piped everything in layers. For example, I piped the two legs in the background first. I then piped the body and two legs that are in the foreground. Then I piped the wreath around deer's neck. I then went back and piped the body and legs in the foreground, being careful to wrap the icing around the edges so that you cannot see that there is a second layer. I did the same for the wreath, allowed it to dry and piped over the wreath a third time. To be honest, I have no idea if this is how volume piping is supposed to be done, I just did it the only way I know how!

Absolutely beautiful detail!! Love your reindeer in white on white

Thank you, Carol. The theme was all white or mostly white, so fortunately I didn't have to worry about painting the reindeer - I have yet to teach myself that technique!
