Hello, cookie competitors! If you missed my last live competition Q&A of the 2024 season with judge Sandie Beltran (aka @You Can Call Me Sweetie), no worries; the complete video recording is below!
In it, Sandie and I review the judging process for the 3rd virtual edition of Julia M. Usher’s Cookie Art Competition™ as well as the judging criteria for its 2-D and 3-D Cookie categories. Sandie also kindly reveals what she most (and least) likes to see in entries! If you’re about to begin an entry (or even if you’re in the midst of designing one), this video provides great tips for tuning your design to best appeal to the judges. That said, it’s not to be missed!
Also, don't forget: entries are due on June 30, 2024 (5 pm CT), and, if you want the judges’ feedback on your entry, you must request it in writing to me (email sweetlife@juliausher.com) no later than June 30 (5 pm CT) as well. There’s still plenty of time to create, but the clock is ticking, so there’s no time better than the present to register and start your entry. Prizes are huge this year (more than $25,500), and the learning potential is unsurpassed as always.
For the 2024 competition rules and registration link, please visit the Competition Overview post in the competition section of this blog.
Sandie, the rest of the judges, and I can’t wait to see your entries!
P.S. My apologies for the transmission delays and syncing issues in some areas of the video. Again, the video was originally filmed live, and its recording quality was subject to internet connections at the time.
