My non-entry for PBP is a set of cookie made for my cookie friend on her birthday. I met Zara @carouselselsel “here” on Cookie Connection three years ago together with @Ryoko ~Cookie Ave. . Every year each one of us bakes something for the other two. It is a way to celebrate with something that we like to do and that each one of us, as a cookier, really appreciates. Last Summer, I had finally the chance to meet Ryoko in person and exchange our birthday cookies. I hope we will be able to meet in person with Zara as well one day!
Back to the non-entry! This is a set of 5 cookies decorated with wet on wet technique. The 4 cookies around could be eaten and the oval one could be a keepsake. I decorated the pansy wet on wet by adding layers of royal icing.
Then I marbled the petals and the leaves by using a scribe tool. A quick video is on the way but if meanwhile you would like to know more , you can have a look to my tutorials here on Cookie Connection : sunflower and the poppy. (Zara liked my wet-on-wet technique tutorials and the Challenge was the sparkle to make this set). The other four cookies are also decorated wet on wet (little pansies and lettering). Writing wet on wet is really tricky. I used the equivalent of a PME 0 tip to get a tiny line. I used thick consistency royal icing. I live in a very humid environment and I worked with the window open at a temperature of about 33ºC (92º F) today. I used a thick consistency royal icing and I had time to work without fear that the icing set too quickly. When I finished decorating I turned the A/C on and put the cookies in front of a fan.
You are an incredible trio of ladies!!! Congratulations on your stunning set, Manu, but more than that, congratulations on honouring your friendship! Great lesson to all💕

Happy Birthday, Zara!!
Thank you so much Heather @Heather Bruce Sosa We really enjoy and cherish our friendship although we've never met
Thank you @Tina at Sugar Wishes 😊... well, it is the perfect technique for the climate where I live, and it allows me to play a little bit longer before the icing starts to set. 💕
