Hello, this is in addition to my previous post as I make a mad dash to the finish line!!  The fans on the left were the ones I had originally done, however it just wasn't what I had in my head (I know you can relate!).

My paper folding skills aren't that great and I couldn't get the folds tight enough for what I wanted, then inspiration struck and I cut up a cupcake paper to give me that tight ridge.  Alas I could only find small cupcake papers but I thought better than nothing to try my theory.  Well it worked. I would have like to let it dry longer before taking off as it ripped a bit when taking off but very happy with the result.

I will now be on the hunt for larger cupcake papers to give this another go, but very happy with the result although I forgot to add other coloured icing when I was doing it as per the ones on the left- doh!

I used flood consistency icing for these.

Both sets are lovely! I really like the addition of gold lining the tops and bottoms on the second set. So very pretty!

Thank you, only because I forgot to use colours in the icing in my haste to get it finished and submitted so went for paint - lol

Your hand-folded fans look impressive, but the cupcake liners really give these fans that perfectly folded look that I'm sure you were going for. Was it just as easy to work with cupcake liners as it was with parchment or waxed paper?

Overall not too bad, I would have preferred to leave them longer probably another 24hrs to be on the safe side.  I put the non printed side of the cupcake cup on the icing as I thought the colour may be imparted on the drying royal icing.  A few bits got stuck when I peeled it off, but using my scribe I scratched the remaining bits off.  I think that I would be looking for a waxy cupcake cup to ensure it doesn't stick.

What beautiful fans Lisa @Lisa R!! Love all the beautiful colors. Once again I'm too late to enter the Challenge...Ugh! I've had a couple of birthday sets that I had to complete before working on the challenge. I was hoping to finish before today but that just didn't happen . I love your entry. They don't look like cookies at all, just  gorgeous fans ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...
