I always wanted to make a cookie with running water ... I love water scenes! From the effort I had not dared until now. Now it irritated me too much, because the challenge exactly "demanded"! But: Isomalt was out of the question for me as it gets sticky too fast in our current humidity ... (the scene should keep long last a bit longer)
And what can I say - she stops !!! (so far 4 days)
The cookie dough is the same as my other "water cookies". The underground of the spring water consists of "mossy" cookies. The bright pebbles and mushrooms are made of fondant. The large stones, tree trunk, snail, branches and plants I have made from marzipan (colored marzipan potatoes). And the water is made of colorless gummy bears (haribo / pineapple flavor). Gummy bears have a different property like isomalt because they contain gelatin. They melt in the microwave very fast and they are just firmly as fast again! But you can pull it nice and long. For the clarity of the gelatin, it must have boiled briefly and processed lightning fast (is quite a mess ...) If it is not hot enough, it remains cloudy and it is too hot discolored / burns and is quite hard.
(I've experimented with the colorful gummy bears before, they also look very nice !!! And: ... you get new ideas!)

Oh I just love how your creative mind works dear Gabi @Icingsugarkeks ❤❤. You seem to always find a way to accomplish your objective with your cookie art 😉. You must have endless patience! No way could I have kept coming up with the ingenious ideas for creating the illusion of a waterfall!! Love this! How many cookies did you use? I've never worked with marzipan and wonder about how easy/ difficult it is to mold and paint..

It makes quite a mess, because the Gummibear mash very quickly gets stuck again! It stuck a lot in my plastic vessel. I used plastic because I melted it in the microwave. Maybe it can be processed longer if the vessel is hot and made of metal?!? The waterfall was very good with it.

thank you sooooo much for your great words always! I really appreciate it very much !! Ha! Yes, I have always had patience. 😂
I only used 2 cookies for it. At the bottom a whole and the 2 steps each 2 x 1/2 cookie. I did not want to use so much fondant and therefore chose the marzipan. (Tastes much better!) It can be modeled how fondant. I did not paint it. Only dyed and shaped (without mold) The brown branches are colored with cocoa. Works very well. I also had marzipan and fondant mixed some time ago. I do not remember what, but it worked very well.

Great idea of using gummy bears for waterfall effect and a superb execution. Very well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I’m definitely try gummy bear as I don’t like isomalt getting dull after a period of time. Thanks for the idea 😘

The "clear water effect" really lasts a long time with this cookie. It does not stick anything! I took pictures again yesterday. The only thing I noticed, it has contracted minimally.

The only thing this scene is missing is a little woodland fairy (or three!). That aside, I have never ever thought of using melted gummy bears for water! How very clever. What I love about this idea is that it may be more stable, longer lasting, and hopefully less sticky than isomalt. I will definitely give gummy bears a try! What a wonderful addition to the challenge this is.
