In Japan, March 3rd is Hina Festival (Girlsโ€™ Day) when we wish happiness for own daughters.  Hina dolls are decorated at home.

If you want to know more about Hina Festival, it is here:  https://www.kyohaku.go.jp/eng/...o/senshoku/hina.html

This is about Kyoto Hina dolls and this might be a bit different from place to place.  For example, we put girl doll left from the boy doll.

I made this cookie for my friendโ€™s birthday, who works at Kindergarten.   Many kindergarten children wear smock.  We eat diamond-shaped-three-colored rice cakes for this day, pink, white and green.  3 colored small rice crackers are also eaten.     The round shapes on backdrop are the image of paper lanterns that are decorated with Hina dolls.  The girl and boy pretend they are Hina dolls.

My friend said that she couldnโ€™t eat this cookie because they were kidsโ€ฆ.  Well, she eats dogs and cats cookies, but yes they are kindergarten children, I seeโ€ฆ.

Oh so cute. I understand why she can not eat the cookie.๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’—

Hi Zara, thank you

The angle of boy's arm is strange... I really need a model!  Looking at myself in the mirror doesn't look like a child at all!   Sooo hard.

My friend took it to kindergarten.   Probably some kids are going to eat the cookie.

I think the boy is fine. You know how strange people's poses can be, especially when kids play. You did a fantastic job if you use yourself as a model. I could never do that.
