Great to see you here! Awesome job on these cookies, and congrats on being our first entrant. Can you tell everyone how you achieved such glossy icing, as it is surely stunning?! Thanks!

Thank you! I use a royal icing recipe that uses real egg whites and then once it has stiff peaks I add a few squeezes of white corn syrup and just mix until incorporated. (Sorry I’m not more specific...I honestly don’t measure the corn syrup...just go by gloss/consistency 😳)

Thanks! And how do you dry them? At room temp, or in front of a fan or in a dehydrator?

Congrats on being our first challenge entrant @Megan Britt! These are wonderful! I agree with Julia, that the shine you achieved with your icing here is impressive! The shine really helps to highlight your piping, which is so important when working in monochrome. This is a fabulous entry!
Also, welcome to Cookie Connection! I hope we see a whole lot more from you in the future!
These are so, so pretty!! I just love the shine you achieved on them (as so many others have already mentioned). May I ask what RI recipe you used?
These are gorgeous
Thank you so much! I know that it is likely not best practice, but in all honesty, I’m not great at measuring once I’ve made it time and time again😳. It contains all the ingredients in Julia Usher’s recipe...however, I use a little less egg white to powdered sugar and once it’s all incorporated I add the corn syrup. This royal dries quite quickly which I believe to be the addition of corn syrup and it adds the shine as well. I certainly hope this is helpful!
