I found this technique to be fun and definitely challenging as this was my first time layering string work. I set out without much of a plan and definitely have room for improvement. I used layered different size cookies to achieve the suspending strings down, then layered different geometrical shapes to obtain dimension. While I’m not super satisfied with my first attempt, I appreciate trying new techniques and love this platform that encourages us to do just that.
So gorgeous, dear Megan!! I love the different colours and tips you used. It’s very creative and you’ve been very brave too. Congratulations on your first attempt!👏👏♥️

I love the use of color, especially since combining color and pattern (on a first attempt, no less) can be a tricky thing. The patterns and layering are fantastic. How did you come up with the designs? Did you plan them or improvise, or a bit of both?

Definitely should’ve had a better plan. The plans were in my head and quickly went in different directions! Thank you for the sweet words!

Changing direction can sometimes be a good thing. Most of my designs are experiments where I have no idea how they will turn out (sometimes great, sometimes not so great), and some of my favorite designs happened by accident! I really like the complexity of your designs. The colors and the dimension add great visual interest.
