To be honest this challenge is for me the most tuff ever as newcomer !!!! Need accuracy, patience, correct consistency of royal icing, firm hand, technique. The speach here has expert in the field the specialist Christine @Sweet Prodigy At the moment I'm dizzy from all of these, but at the same time had fun ❤️I'm still sweating ha ha but normaly is cold! It's science for me.I saw videos, and readed that somebody ad corn starch and also CMC, but it get very solid.Must be sticky but not running icing
Difficult challenge and I admire all artists are dealing with, also you dear Christine Dutcher @Sweet Prodigy !!!
Becouse I coudn't wait I destroyed already 2 cupolas builded with royal icing strings on half hemisphereWhat I said before patience patience patience!!!Ha ha I have none😂
Thank you dear.Yes Megan @Megan Britt but you did it famously, for sure better than I,really very wellDefinitely it is my Achilles heel😂😂😂
I don’t think so for a minute! I tried the lace string work like you did on the side of your cookie with the red rose in the center and my arches were a hot mess. Yours turned out perfectly! Yes, Achilles heel...but fun to try😉. Thanks for the sweet words! Enjoy your day, Petra!

Thank you Meg❤️Needs patience and not touching arches each other when you do it if possible ❤️Here is already evening in Greece.Have a good practicing
I love your comments explaining everything that you encountered and learned about this technique – and I completely understand the dizziness! But you have managed to create beautiful gravity-defying stringwork cookies. The roses add a touch of elegance but do not distract from the stringwork. Did you manage to find a good consistency that was easy to work with?

Truly still working on consistency, it's really science if you don't know about this technique so I have to find the best right one,I said that I add after close to end CMC,in my opinion that is wrong,it needs delicate powder sugar ,fresh eggs white ,must be sticky ...so still didn't discover the right one ♥️

You're right, getting the right consistency really is a science, and not just for stringwork but for all royal icing projects as I am sure you know. I have not used CMC, and I prefer not to use corn syrup, but I know others prefer it and it works well for them. I did find that using egg whites seems to make the icing stronger than using meringue powder but I will have to experiment a bit more with that to know for sure. And sometimes different projects require different consistencies. Your work is very lovely and creative so I hope you keep experimenting and practicing! ♥

You're so right that this is a difficult challenge! I've done some stringwork before (I don't know if I'll have the time to enter this one but I'm certainly hoping that I'll be able to do so ). I agree that Christine @Sweet Prodigy is a master at piping perfect strings. Her detail is absolutely awesome!! Looks like you've done a wonderful job again my dear friend. ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...
