Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #19: Molded Cookies

When I read Challenge 19, I remembered making such a shaped gingerbread seven or eight years ago. Their condition is still good.

At the time, I bought silicone molds for chocolate and tried it with gingerbread dough as well.

The molds are not oven-proof, I didn’t plan to bake in these. I only used it for molding. My gingerbread dough kept the sample well even after baking. The veining of the butterfly wings are also visible.

I haven't used these cookies for a project yet. I did not share it formerly. That’s why I photographed these just now, for the challenge.

I like natural dough's color, so I didn’t color these. I used spicy gingerbread (cinnamon, clove) dough and cocoa gingerbread dough.

I'm so glad you kept these cookies bare. All of the focus is on the wonderful textures and dimensional design. (I especially love how your photography captures this with the lighting and the shadows.) It looks like gingerbread dough is best for holding its shape during baking. Also, did I read that correctly, that this cookie is seven or eight years old?

Thanks so much for your kind feedback, Chirstine @Sweet Prodigy! 🤎 Yes, I have baked these long time ago.

@PUDING FARM Hi Timea, unfortunately, Rule 6 requires that you make a brand new cookie design/set (which does not mean an old design/set that has been newly photographed).

6. As always, we ask that you make a brand new cookie design/set for this challenge.

The purpose of the challenges is to have people challenge themselves and their current abilities in order to grow, learn, and improve. Unfortunately, submitting something that you made years ago does not work towards achieving that goal. Challenge #19 is a fantastic challenge and you are a very talented cookier. I would love to see you submit a new cookie/design set that really stretches your great abilities.

Dear Christine @Sweet Prodigy,

Thank you for your remark.

I applied for Challenge 19 because this cookie was already ready. I read the rule before. I did not thought this work objectionable.

Rule 6 means to me not to publish an already published, shared work that is already seen by anybody. This is how I understood Rule 6. That’s why I submitted this work, as it has never been published as I have described it.

I honestly wrote when it was made. Wherefore? In the light of Rule 3. Because I would make this pattern now, because I only have these molds. And I wouldn't do anything differently. There is no point in baking again because I would submit the same pattern.

If this is not acceptable, please, feel free to remove it from the challenge.

Thank you for clarifying how you interpreted Rule 6. It is very helpful and I appreciate it. This is not a major issue (e.g., violating site rules), so it can certainly remain as an entry to the challenge.

Thank you very much, Christine @Sweet Prodigy! 🤎

Beautiful Timea @PUDING FARM! I love using molds with dough and then putting those flowers onto the cookies prior to baking. You can create such wonderful dimension and there no royal icing decorating needed to have a gorgeous finished cookie! Awesome idea my friend ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...
