Look at all of those techniques!  Great job and thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much I told myself that I wasn’t going to get in my feelings if it wasn’t liked very much lol cause it is different and all but I wanted to try new stuff and I love how it turned out

Lovely! Can you explain a bit about how each of the elements was made? I am assuming the roses are all edible paper? But how did you tint and shape them? How were the "Scrabble" letters made? Royal icing transfers or something else? Is the white lace made of edible cake lace or punched wafer paper? Thanks - I think everyone would love to know more about the various and interesting techniques used here.

I printed a background color on wafer paper then conditioned it with glycerin and ever clear to make them into fabric sheets so I could roll them without cracking , I used pre made fabric sheets and dipped pieces of them in water and added food coloring to and mixed untill I could spread on a lace mat,  I brushed royal icing on the bare cookie then used a burlap style silk screen to give the impression the cookie was burlap, the music notes on bottom are wafer paper I printed on , the scrabble pieces are royal icing go transfers that I did and gently put another piece of parchment paper on top to give it the flat affect then filed them down after dried to give them the square shape

What a gorgeous heart @Lola Willard!! You've added so many unique elements to the cookie: music, scrabble pieces, edible lace, and wonderfully "aged" roses. I love the metallic touches! It's so unique and creative!! Awesome work ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

Thank you so much , I love doing cookie art like this but unfortunately a lot of my orders are in a different category but when I have time I like to play around and I was able to use and experiment with different things that I’ve never worked with before and it was fun 😊 thank you again.

I know exactly what you mean, Lola!! So often we need to watch the clock closely in order to keep the decorating process profitable. That's harder and harder to do these days with prices skyrocketing like they are! I, too, love the time to "play around" with ideas inbetween orders . Your work is always beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ Hugs...

Thank you so much 😊 I have a few more I’m working on it’s just finding the time to finish them I’m so happy you like my work I love yours as well I started a year ago so I’m still learning of course I’ve made top 10 on here numerous times I just can’t get to the spot light yet lol 😂 I’m not good at taking pics for one thing so that might have a lot to do with it lol 😂 but I’ll get there one day I hope 🤞

I'm so impressed that you've been decorating cookies for just one year and have mastered so many techniques!! So much of learning different techniques is practice, and lots of it! LOL But, I think you're taking the right approach in "playing around" when you're able. It's in the trial and error process that learning really takes hold. IMO

Taking pictures is an important part of cookie-ing. There are lots of videos and articles available that talk about the hows of taking pics. I think you're doing a great job!! I often try to think of items that might go along with the cookie design. For example: if you have a sheet of music (or you can print one out), you can arrange the cookie next to it, or on it. You can also use lace as a background since you're using edible lace on the cookie, even adding some scrabble square pieces from a set....just some stuff like that helps me a lot.

You'll definitely get the cover spot on the week's hot list of cookies . You've got a creative mind with unique ideas!! That's at least half the battle, if you will . CC is such a safe and welcoming site! It's one of the very best places to share your work and learn ❤️
