I not only posted my summer sale a touch early, but I'm also ahead of the eight ball on posting our June site art! I'm headed out of town for some much-needed R&R, and I'm working my hardest in the remaining few hours before tomorrow's departure to ensure that my metaphorical decks are clear and free of distractions. So far so good.
But, about our glorious June site art, which is why I am really here! Overflowing with flowers, this month's banner and backdrop are a compilation of three cookie posts made by the very talented @Edyta Kołodziej. (You can find Edyta's original posts here, here, and here.) The abundance of vibrant wildflowers spoke "summer" to both me and Site Art Stylist @Icingsugarkeks (aka Gabi), but it was Gabi who had the brilliance to also include Edyta's portrait of a young woman. You can almost feel the warm summer breeze wafting through her hair. And you can certainly see it in the clever animation that Gabi added to the site's banner!
Thank you to Edyta and Gabi for easing us into summer so stylishly.
As always, I love to interview my site artists as a way of expressing my gratitude for their contributions, and the good news is I've already conducted a Cookier Close-up with Edyta. I did so back in November 2021 when Edyta was also our featured site artist. As that interview is still rather recent, I refer you to it and Edyta's bio below so that you can get to know her better. Thanks again to Edyta and Gabi for their work to beautify our site this month!
P.S. I'll start work on the Cookier Close-up questions for our May site artist, @CHIKAKO.F, after I return from vacation, so stay tuned for that interview sometime in June.
Edyta Kołodziej comes from Poland. Decorating cookies is her passion, which she pursues as a hobby. It all started for Edyta in 2013 with the construction of a gingerbread house for Christmas. For the next three years, she made gingerbread houses for friends and acquaintances; then things changed in 2017 when she met Ania Komisarczyk. During a course with Ania, Edyta learned the secrets of royal icing. Only a year later, Edyta took part in her first ŁÓDŹ you like cookie? contest, and won in the category of 3-D cookies. Following that win, she participated in Cake Festival Poland and Sweet Mission on Facebook, and affirmed that 3-D constructions are her favorite field.
Edyta loves to learn different decorating techniques and to play with royal icing. She explores the secrets of decorating through both courses and independent study of tutorials and materials provided by the Cookie Connection community. When making cookies, she always follows the golden rule: make what you would like to get yourself.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through January 2024, so I am specifically looking for art for February 2024 and beyond. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.
Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
