Boy, do I have a lot to be thankful for this month . . . a couple of family gatherings, a new product line (stay tuned for a HUGE launch giveaway in about two weeks), a bounty of food planned for my Thanksgiving table, and . . . more gorgeous site artwork! I absolutely love this banner and backdrop created by former Cookie Connection contributor @Yankee Girl Yummies (aka Kari Arroyo) for Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #13. Kari was the very deserving November winner of that challenge, and so we'll get to gaze at her lovely work for the next 30 days. Lucky us!

A November fall ADJ

We had a live chat with Kari about a year ago (transcript here), where she talked a lot about her production of cookie video shorts, but, as always, we'll be taking a closer look at her cookie and non-cookie lives in a Cookier Close-up later this month. In the meantime, check out her brief bio below and remind yourself of her wonderful bounty of tutorials under the Dear Yankee Girl blog category here on Cookie Connection.

Kari ArroyoKari Arroyo started decorating cookies in 2011 after deciding to take a break from nursing, and learned the ways of royal icing by reading tutorials and LOTS of trial and error. When she’s not decorating cookies, you can find her chasing after two busy boys! Check her out on Facebook or her site, and email her your cookie questions at

* P.S. Our 2016 featured site artists are all winners of our Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #13, which you can read more about here. If you would like your own cookie art to be considered for use on the site after our challenge winners have run their course (by January 2017), I would love to see it at any time. Guidelines for submitting cookie art can be found here.
