Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Cookies

Bunnies, blooms, and sparkle. What a wonderful way to salute the first week of spring! I'm not sure how the weather is where you are, but, in my neighborhood, spring is definitely in the air. Bunnies are hopping, and flower buds are popping. (Of course, the hopping bunnies are eating the popping buds, but that's a topic for another day.) The topic for today is the delightful cookies that have trended the fastest over the past seven days. It's an Easter parade of springtime sweetness and . . . a unicorn!

#2: Easter Eggs by PaulinaBiskup (These cookies are simply elegant, and the flooded backgrounds are flawless.)

#3: Love Is the Flower You’ve Got to Let Grow by The Vintage Cookie Jar (Such a gorgeous variety of flowers! Each one is distinct yet they all go together perfectly.)

#4: Easter! by Di Art Sweets (These cookies are absolute springtime joy. As @Julia M. Usher mentioned in her comments under Di Art Sweet's post, this set incorporates so many great techniques so seamlessly.)

#5: Bunny Moss Cookies by Cajun Home Sweets (The whimsy in this collection is delightful. It shows that bunnies and gardening can actually go together beautifully!)

#6: Stained Glass Flowers by Peg Redman (Such a lovely application of the stained glass technique!)

So there you have it . . . the cookies that have been hoppin' and poppin' the most over the past seven days. A bit of nature, a bit of Easter, and a bit of magic. The perfect end to the first week of spring. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone shares in week two!

Lisa Foss is a hobbyist cookie decorator. After careers in corporate communications and freelance writing, she focused her attention on the nonprofit sector. She spent more than a decade at various soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and prison reentry programs throughout New York City. Lisa’s cookie journey began in 2011 when she started making gingerbread houses. After getting a handle on construction, she focused on improving her decorating skills through books, videos, and online tutorials. Though she enjoys making cookies for family and friends, Lisa’s main focus is cookies for charity. In 2020, Lisa and her husband moved from New York to the eastern shore of Maryland where they already had a part-time residence. The move has enabled her to significantly improve her decorating skills. She continues to donate cookies to various local charities.
