I can't believe we are saying goodbye to another month. The summer breezes already feel like a distant memory. I guess I should clarify that those summer breezes were in my neighborhood. Though I am closing the pool and stacking firewood, not all of us are enjoying the same season. Some of the cookies on this week's hot list* serve as a beautiful reminder of this community's internationality. How lucky we are to have such a diverse and far-reaching membership on Cookie Connection! Some say fall, some say spring! However you say it, you will find so much inspiration on this site throughout every season.

Lisa Foss is a hobbyist cookie decorator. After careers in corporate communications and freelance writing, she focused her attention on the nonprofit sector. She spent more than a decade at various soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and prison reentry programs. Lisa’s cookie journey began in 2011 when she started making gingerbread houses. After getting a handle on construction, she focused on improving her decorating skills through books, videos, and online tutorials. This exploration brought her to Cookie Connection, which has provided her with an incredible community to learn from and grow with.
